care-A-van - New Prices, New Way to Buy

Starting Monday, January 1, 2007, care-A-van tickets and passes will be the same as the regular transit tickets and passes. By doing this, seniors and students will save money on their ticket and pass purchases. There is no change to the adult ticket price. Drivers will accept the yellow care-A-van tickets until March 1, 2007. After that time, the yellow tickets will no longer be accepted. Care-A-van tickets will continue to be sold through the care-A-van dispatchers and will also be sold at all the ticket agent locations in the Town, with the applicable discounts.

Why is this change being made?
To provide care-A-van customers with the same opportunity to save on discounted fares, and to provide integration, convenience and flexibility between systems. The revised prices provide significant discounts to seniors (over 70% of care-A-van passengers are seniors)

When can I start using the new tickets & passes?
You can start using the tickets on Monday, January 1, 2007.

When can I buy the new monthly pass?
The January Monthly pass will be available to purchase beginning the week of December 18th.

Where can I buy the tickets & passes?
Care-A-van tickets will continue to be sold through the care-A-van dispatchers and will also be sold at all the ticket agent locations in the Town.

Can I still buy tickets from the care-A-van office?
Yes. Order your tickets or monthly passes from the dispatchers, and the drivers will deliver them to you on your next pick up. Cheques only.

Can I use a ticket or a pass?
Yes, care-A-van passengers can use tickets OR they can use a monthly pass. Passengers who only travel a few times per week will realize greater savings by purchasing tickets. Passengers who travel a minimum of 10 times per week will realize savings and convenience by purchasing a monthly pass.

What do I do with the old yellow tickets?
Drivers will accept the yellow care-A-van tickets until March 1, 2007. After that time, the yellow tickets will no longer be accepted.
